Annual Fall Apple Festival -- Friday, October 3, 2008. This is the League's most important fundraiser held in coopertion with the City's Department of Recreation and Parks at the War Memorial Plaza on 101 N. Gay Street. Fresh local apples, apple products, fall flowers, tulip and daffodil bulbs, seeds, a Silent Auction, food vendors, and vendors of all kinds are featured. Proceeds go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the Federal period Thorowgood Smith house on 9 Front Street and to the daily operations of the Women's Civic League.
